Overview

The SHINING P250-K2 EP is an interlocked sidebar pan conveyor chain for cement plants, built on a 250 mm pitch. It is the chain that takes hot clinker from the kiln and cooler discharge up the steep incline to the clinker silo. The sidebar is cranked at the bottom edge, so the pan sits close to the chain line, and the chain runs in centre-chain and twin-strand pan conveyors.

The chain comes in two builds on the same pitch. The light-duty version runs 51 mm sidebars on an 8 mm plate with a 20 mm pin in a 32 mm bush, rated at 250 kN. The heavy-duty version steps up to 90 mm sidebars on a 12 mm plate with a 30 mm pin in a 45 mm bush, rated at 650 kN. Both builds share the same interlocking link plates and can carry an attachment at every pitch.

The heavy-duty build of the same chain family has its own product page - see the P250-K2 EP-HD Heavy Duty Pan Conveyor Chain.

Applications in the Cement Plant

  • Kiln and cooler discharge: hot clinker taken straight off the kiln outlet and cooler, dust and all.

  • Steep inclined conveying: the pan conveyor climbs grades up to 37 degrees - the interlocked links hold the pans tight on the way up.

  • Clinker silo feed: pans carry the clinker to the silo top and discharge into the store.

  • Replacement and retrofit: built dimension-for-dimension to your drawing or to a worn link, so the chain drops into the existing conveyor.

Features

Interlocking Link Plates Keep the Pans Tight

On this chain the outer link plate is waisted at both ends and the inner link plate carries a raised boss either side of the pitch hole. When the joint closes, the bosses come up against the waisted shoulders and the joint stops. The joint swings freely in the line of travel - but it cannot fold back against it. On the loaded up-run of an inclined pan conveyor, each link tends to rotate back against the link above it; that rotation is exactly what the interlock blocks. The pans stay butted edge to edge all the way up the incline - no gap opens between them and no hot clinker leaks through.

Pan Plates at the Spacing You Run

Both builds take their pan fixing at every pitch (250 mm) - the light-duty pair of inner wing plates and the heavy-duty attachment plates. Other spacings are made to your drawing.

Two Duty Ranges on One Pitch

Both builds share the 250 mm pitch and the same interlocking link form, so the choice between the 51 mm light build and the 90 mm heavy build is a duty decision, not a redesign.

Heat-Treated Pin and Bush

The pin is surface induction-hardened and the bush is carburized, so wear is taken at the bearing surfaces where it can be managed, and the chain keeps its pitch.

Made to Your Drawing

Sidebar height, plate thickness and fixing holes are made to your drawing so the chain drops into the existing conveyor.

Matched Sprockets

Matching sprockets are built from the same works to the same drawing, so chain and sprocket wear together.

Specifications

The table sets the two builds side by side: the light-duty version and the heavy-duty version. Both are in production.

Material and heat treatment are selected for the duty. The sidebars and wing plates are cut from quenched-and-tempered 40Cr/40Mn alloy steel - they carry the chain load. The 40Cr/42CrMo pins are surface induction-hardened and the 20Cr/20CrMo bushes are carburized, so the wear is taken at the pin and bush surfaces where it can be managed, and the full service life of the chain is extended.

Matching sprockets are covered too: the customized sprocket built for this 250 mm pitch chain has its own page - see the P250M14-C-8T Customized Sprocket.

Why SHINING for Cement-Plant Chain

SHINING has manufactured conveyor chain and sprockets for cement plants for over twenty years, with drop forging, welding, machining and heat treatment under our own control. Every production batch is tensile-tested before shipment, and our quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (46026Q00958R053) and ISO 14001:2015 (46026E00959R053).

We build to interchange. Send the OEM part number, an old link or a drawing, and we will confirm the match and reproduce it dimension-for-dimension, with sprockets and attachments cut to suit.

Service & Support

Standard production lead time is 60 days from receipt of the order and confirmation of the drawing. For breakdowns and planned shutdowns we can discuss an expedited slot - tell us your date and we will plan the delivery around it.

Our engineers support station and duty review, chain selection, wear and elongation analysis, maintenance planning, and genuine replacement parts. Send your conveying duty and we will size the chain for you.

FAQs aboutP250-K2 EP Interlocked Pan Conveyor Chain for Cement Plants

How do I get a quote for cement chain and sprocket

Send us the chain number or OEM part number (or a drawing / sample), the chain length, and the duty - material handled, temperature, load and speed. We will come back with a specification and a price.

What certification do you hold?

SHINING is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Inspection reports and certificates of conformance are issued with every order.

Do you make non-standard or custom chain?

Yes. Non-standard pitches, special attachments, custom scraper or flight spacing, alternative materials and surface treatments are all routine for us.

Do you supply the sprockets as well as the chain?

Yes, and we recommend it. Chain and sprocket should be engineered as one system. We supply solid, split and segmental sprockets, tooth-cut to the actual pitch of the chain.

Can you supply a spare from a sample or an old part?

Yes. Send a worn sample or a short length and we will reverse-engineer it - pitch, plate and attachment geometry - and manufacture to the agreed specification.

What is the minimum order quantity?

MOQ is 30 meter for chain - a cement conveyor set runs 30 to 50 meter and is always heavy-duty, so one order covers a full line. Sprockets are quoted per piece.

What is your lead time?

Our standard production lead time is 60 days from receipt of the order and confirmation of the drawing. For urgent breakdowns, tell us the deadline and we will confirm what can be pulled forward.

How long does a cement plant chain last?

Life depends on the duty - material, temperature, speed and load - not one figure. Judge it by elongation: a correctly specified, heat-treated chain stays within the take-up range far longer. Tell us the duty and we will set the specification.

Can you replace the chain on our existing conveyor without changing the drive?

Yes. Our chains and sprockets interchange with the major international cement-chain brands. Send the OEM part number or a drawing and we will confirm the match; a short length of the original chain lets us measure and match it exactly.
