Welded conveyor chain for sugar mill feed and washing tables; through-hardened, riveted, nine models.
The SHINING WDH series is a heavy-duty welded steel conveyor chain built for the feed and washing tables of sugar mills, where cane is metered into the shredders and washed before crushing. Nine models cover an average pitch from 127.0 mm to 203.2 mm and a minimum ultimate strength from 226.7 kN to 543.0 kN, so one family serves everything from a light feeder table to the heaviest washing-table drive. All working parts are through-hardened, and riveted construction is standard.
Because the chain runs wet, abrasive and continuously through the crop, it is judged by elongation rather than by a calendar. A correctly specified WDH chain stays inside the take-up range far longer, which is what keeps a mill from stopping in the middle of the crush.
Cane Feed Table / Feeder Table: meters prepared cane into the shredder under continuous load.
Cane Washing Table: the wettest, most abrasive station - the reason WDH480XHD exists.
Cane Carrier / Main Carrier: carries prepared cane from the preparation plant to the milling train.
Bagasse Handling: moves the fibrous residue after juice extraction.
Every load-bearing part of the WDH chain is through-hardened. That is what lets the pin and the sidebar working surfaces stand up to the sand, grit and cane fibre that a feed table throws at them, and it is the main reason the chain keeps its pitch instead of stretching out of the take-up range.
Riveted construction is standard. Pin-and-cottered construction can be furnished on a made-to-order basis when a mill would rather re-pin a joint on site than replace a section of chain.
One family covers the whole duty range: WDH102 and WDH104 at 226.7 kN, WDH110 / WDH112 at 235.0 kN and 250.0 kN, WDH113 / WDH120 at 297.8 kN and 311.5 kN, WDH116 / WDH480 at 250.0 kN and 311.5 kN, and WDH480XHD at 543.0 kN. A mill can step up the strength without leaving the family.
Sidebar thickness runs from 9.53-9.70 mm on the standard models to 12.70 mm on WDH113 / WDH120 / WDH480 and 15.88 mm on WDH480XHD, with pin diameter rising from 19.05 mm to 25.40 mm. The XHD build is aimed at the wet end and the washing table, where impact and abrasion are highest.
Chain and sprocket are engineered as one system. Our sprockets are tooth-cut to the measured pitch of the chain, not to its nominal pitch, because a sprocket cut to the wrong standard hammers the teeth and destroys both parts.
The technical table below is the standard WDH series range. Dimensions are in mm and the strength column is the minimum ultimate strength of the chain in kN. Drawings for any model are available on request.

SHINING has manufactured welded and engineered conveyor chain for over twenty years, with forging, machining and heat treatment under our own control. Every production batch is tensile-tested before shipment, and our quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (46026Q00958R053) and ISO 14001:2015 (46026E00959R053).
We also build to interchange. Send the OEM part number, an old chain or a drawing, and we will confirm the match and reproduce it dimension-for-dimension, with sprockets cut to suit.
Standard production lead time is 60 days from receipt of the order and confirmation of the drawing. Crush-season timing matters - tell us your start date and we will plan the delivery around it, and for urgent breakdowns we can discuss an expedited slot.
Our engineers support the full cycle: station and duty review, chain and sprocket specification, wear and elongation analysis, maintenance planning, and genuine replacement parts. Send your station and duty details and we will size the chain and the drive power for you.
