Cast Iron Parts

SHINING's new project, focusing on gray iron and ductile iron castings, is a collaborative effort with other factories. Gray cast iron is a type of cast iron composed of graphite particles and residual ferrite. The weight of gray iron castings produced worldwide each year surpasses that of any other type of castings. Gray iron is widely used in automotive parts, machine tool parts, mechanical equipment, and more due to its excellent wear resistance, high temperature resistance, high strength, and self-lubricating properties.

Ductile iron, named for its unique microstructure where carbon is present in spherical form, offers greater resistance to bending and impact loads. Ductile iron has higher strength and ductility compared to gray cast iron. These properties make it suitable for a variety of industrial applications, including pipes, automotive parts, wheels, gearboxes, pump casings, and machine frames for the wind power industry, among others. Because ductile iron does not fracture like gray cast iron, it is also ideal for use in anti-collision applications, such as bollards.
