Scraper conveyor consists of a trough in which a continuous driven chain with flights is running. The flights are scraping the material over the bottom of the casing. The material is moving forward to the discharge point.
Scraper chain design is ideal for slower transportation speeds over short distances, on moderate inclines, or even underwater.
Scraper conveyors have several advantages compared to belt conveyors, such as no adhesion of the material to be conveyed on the ground, because the flights constantly scrape off the floor.
